November Half-Day Retreat
Living into our identity as beloved children of God is one of the most important invitations of the Christian life. While it can be challenging to experience this in our day-to-day lives, we can practice together in community.
Join us for this half-day retreat where we will have space to do just that. Spiritual Directors Jenna Norman and Karyn McDaniel will take participants through guided practices that help us rest in God’s loving gaze and encounter Him more deeply.
January Half-Day Retreat
The beginning of a new year offers us a beautiful opportunity to pause and notice where God has been present in our everyday lives. In the Church calendar, this season falls between Christmas, when we celebrate Jesus entering into our ordinary human life, and Lent, when we begin to journey toward his death. It is a season to pay attention to the life in between, the ordinary moments when God meets us, speaks to us, and invites us to notice his presence.
During this half-day retreat, we’ll practice the Prayer of Examen, making space to look back over the past year with curiosity and gratitude. From there, we’ll turn our attention toward the year ahead, asking what God might be inviting us to notice, receive, or step into. Together, we’ll make space to look both backward and forward, trusting that the God who has been present in our ordinary lives is the same God who will meet us in whatever comes next.
March Half-Day Retreat
Friday, March 20, 9:00am - 12:00pm
For centuries, Christians have meditated on the Stations of the Cross to contemplate the powerful mystery of Jesus' sacrifice. We are invited to immerse ourselves in Jesus' journey to the cross through the fourteen different scenes.
In preparation for Holy Week, join us for a contemplative morning where participants will be guided through the Stations of the Cross created by a local artist.
Registration is required, and space is limited.
April Half-Day Retreat
Friday, April 30, 9:00am - 12:00pm
The season of Easter is a time to celebrate new life and resurrection. The stone has been rolled away, the tomb has been opened, and Christ is risen! And yet, in our lives, while not yet in full, resurrection often comes to us in quieter ways. Like a garden, much of the life God is growing in us happens slowly, beneath the surface, often before we can see it.
During this half-day retreat, we’ll enter the Easter story through the lens of a garden. We'll have space to reflect on what has been buried, what is beginning to take root, and where we are seeing signs of new life.
Contemplative Workshop: Embodiment
Spiritual Directors Jenna Norman, Karyn McDaniel, and Christine Cown will take participants through a variety of communal and individual spiritual practices that give space to reflect on what it means to have a body and how we connect with God through them. Participants will then engage in an hour-long yoga session followed by a time to unpack the afternoon together.
Contemplative Workshop: Feasting
Join us for another Contemplative Workshop! Led by Jenna Norman and Katie Sheerin, this gathering invites you into simple, meaningful practices that help you encounter God in the ordinary rhythms of daily life and in the joy of Easter celebration. Together, we’ll prepare and share a meal, discovering how feasting, faith, and community can become sacred practices that nourish both body and soul.
The workshop will take place in a home in Westside Atlanta (address shared one week prior); please bring a journal, pen, and water bottle. Registration is required, and space is limited.
Contemplative Saturday: Walking the Labyrinth
On March 28, the Saturday before Holy Week, join Jenna Norman, Spiritual Director and founder of Shiloh ATL, and Addie Mumey, Storywork facilitator and founder of Steadfast, at Trinity for a prayerful spiritual direction workshop walking a labyrinth.
